Who This Policy Covers
This Privacy Policy applies to Trusty Rusty, a handyman business serving Sacramento and surrounding areas. The website address is https://rustyhandyman.com.
Information You May Send
When you contact Rusty through the website, by phone, text, or a connected service, the business may collect your name, phone number, optional email address, city or service area, ZIP code, service type, up to two service-specific scope answers (such as an item count, approximate size, wall material, task type, or whether materials are on site), project context and description, preferred date, optional SMS consent, any referral-bonus choice, the human-readable form source, and the Sacramento time zone used to interpret a preferred date. The website form does not upload photos; you may choose to send photos separately by text.
The form also sends limited attribution details used to understand how the request arrived: the original landing-page path, current page path, referring site origin, supported UTM source/medium/campaign values, and a supported AI-referral label. These first-touch values are kept in session storage for the current browser session and do not include the contents of pages you visited elsewhere.
If you call, text, or contact Rusty through Thumbtack, you may choose to provide other project details or photos through that service. Please do not send passwords, payment-card details, authentication codes, or other information that is not needed to discuss the job.
How Information Is Used
Customer information is used only to respond to inquiries, provide estimates, schedule work, perform handyman services, and keep clear communication about your project.
The website does not currently enable a Thumbtack OAuth or API connection or a customer photo-upload feature. It does use Vercel Web Analytics as described below.
The homepage contains a first-party snapshot of selected public Thumbtack profile facts and one public review, together with the date they were last checked. It does not embed a Thumbtack widget or script. No request is sent to Thumbtack unless you choose to follow the ordinary link to the public profile.
Active Website Providers
Vercel hosts the website and its first-party contact endpoint. Before a request is delivered, that endpoint checks the request origin and size, validates and normalizes the listed fields, and uses a hidden honeypot plus a form-age check to reduce automated abuse. Completion speed alone is not used to discard a request. The form-age marker is not a visitor identifier and is not sent to Formspree. The application does not forward the visitor's IP address as a contact-form field.
After those checks, Formspree processes the accepted contact-form fields over HTTPS so the request can be delivered to Trusty Rusty. Vercel may also process ordinary request information, such as IP address, browser and device headers, requested path, and request timing, to operate and protect the service.
The homepage uses a first-party snapshot of selected public Thumbtack profile facts. It does not load a Thumbtack widget, script, image, or API request. Thumbtack receives a normal browser request only if you choose to open the public profile link.
Sharing
Customer information is not sold. It is accessible to Rusty and to the service providers needed to host the site, deliver a request, communicate with you, and keep necessary business records. It may also be disclosed when required by law or to protect customers, the business, or the website.
The active website contact form is processed by Formspree. The first-party endpoint sends Formspree only the validated fields listed above and the limited attribution fields, plus an empty provider honeypot field. It does not send the internal form-start timing marker. The site uses the honeypot and form-age check without adding an advertising cookie, fingerprint, or application-level visitor profile. If JavaScript is unavailable and a validation or provider error occurs, the same-origin response can prefill the submitted fields for a retry; it is marked no-store and noindex and does not place those values in the URL or a persistent browser store.
Trusty Rusty currently uses Vercel Web Analytics for anonymized, cookie-free page views, visited paths, and referring sites. The site also contains privacy-limited instrumentation for aggregate actions such as call clicks, text clicks, quote-form starts, validation attempts, successful submissions, and submission errors; Vercel accepts and reports those custom events only on plans that support them. Custom event data is limited to the original first-party landing-page path and a grouped source such as direct, organic, referral, UTM, or a supported AI assistant. Query strings, authentication routes, contact details, ZIP codes, and project descriptions are removed or excluded from analytics. See Vercel's Web Analytics privacy information.
SMS Compliance: No mobile information will be shared with third parties/affiliates for marketing/promotional purposes. Text messaging originator opt-in data and consent are not shared for another party's independent use; they may be handled only by providers acting on behalf of Trusty Rusty to transmit or store the customer's request.
Text messages from Trusty Rusty are used for customer service, scheduling, estimates, job updates, and direct follow-up about requested handyman services. Message frequency varies based on the customer request and active project. Message and data rates may apply. Customers can reply STOP to opt out or HELP for help. SMS consent is optional and is not required to submit a service request or purchase services.
Retention And Your Choices
Inquiry and project information is kept only for as long as reasonably needed to respond, schedule or provide services, maintain transaction and communication records, resolve disputes, and meet legal obligations. Copies held by a provider are also subject to that provider's settings and retention practices.
You may ask Trusty Rusty to review, correct, or delete information you submitted. Some records may need to be retained when required for an active job, transaction record, legal obligation, security investigation, or dispute.
Privacy Requests
For a privacy question or a request to review, correct, or delete information, call or text Rusty at (279) 799-6872, or use the contact form on the website contact section.
